Story is how we communicate.

Picture

Story is how we make sense of our world. It is how we tell each other who we are, where we come from, what we need, and what we believe. Stories belong to every culture and every age — because they help us say what is otherwise hard to say.

Story is how we create.

Picture
In the shared experience of story, we create new memories, new meaning, and new relationships. We discover new ways of seeing our world — and each other.

Story is how we connect.

The magic is in the telling. Whether you’ve heard the tale a thousand times or never before, a well-told story carries us somewhere together — into understanding, into reflection, and sometimes, into wonder.
“You could feel the air leave the room.”
— Sheila Arnold, Internationally Renowned Storyteller, after Tama’s performance of Silent Shadows
“Tama tackles significant and difficult themes on political, social, and personal levels. She handles them with aesthetic devices and bold artistic choices that make them immediate and compelling.”
— Dr. Joseph Sobol, Storyteller, Musician, Former Director of Storytelling, East Tennessee State University
“Beautifully and sensitively developed and delivered. All listeners could identify with at least one story.”
— Linda Harris, Board President, International Storytelling Center
“The way the stories connected with the audience moved the experience beyond entertainment into something much richer. Everyone could relate to some part of the journey.”
— Corey Howard, Storyteller, Performer, Producer
“Happy, loving memories seemed to reduce the strain of dealing with grief.”
— Sherry Peters, Former President and Performing Member, Jonesborough Storytellers Guild
